Valentine
Valentine's Day is a special day dedicated to love and romance. It is traditionally celebrated on February 14 every year. On this day, you express love and appreciation for each other through small sweet gestures such as gifts, cards, flowers and of course treats such as chocolates and cookies.
Mathilde, our talented content creator for the magazine and for the website here, has been in the kitchen and she has decided to make Valentine's Day even more memorable for her boyfriend by surprising him with some handmade cookies. These cookies are not just ordinary cookies; they are little pieces of love and care, kneaded together with the finest ingredients and seasoned with a touch of romance. :) See how she made them in the video below. You will find the recipe below.- happy valentine
You will need:
230 g of butter
130 g of sugar
350 g wheat flour
3 teaspoons of vanilla sugar
2 pieces organic oranges
Fruit color
Here's how you do it:
Grate the peel of the 2 oranges. Stir sugar and butter together. Add flour, vanilla sugar, orange peel and stir everything together. After that, only creativity sets the limits. You can make everything from flowers to hearts. I made Valentine's cookies with flowers, as I associate them with people I care about and with whom I want to share the cookies.
I left most of the dough in its natural color, which I rolled out as a "background" for the cookies. The rest of the dough was divided into 4 smaller parts, each of which was given its own colour. By rolling small balls and attaching them to the rolled out dough, I formed the small flowers. See how in the video above. Making the flowers may take some time, but it's really nice to immerse yourself in. It can also be made more simply if you want to save some time.
The cookies must be baked at 180 degrees for 10-15 minutes until they are golden.
When the cookies were cooled, I wrote little messages on the back of them with food coloring and a brush.
