Beer cake

One of the good old Danish and really simple recipes that just tastes good is this beer cake. I remember it myself clearly from my childhood, when my grandmother served it. The recipe fits 2 shortbread tins. If it is to be really good, it must be served with cold butter spread on the slices.

What you need:

2 white beers
750 g brown sugar
750 g flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 tablespoons of cinnamon
1 tablespoon ground ginger
1 tablespoon crushed cloves

Here's how you do it:

Beer and brown sugar are whisked together. spices and baking soda are mixed into the flour and added. Bake in greased tins for approximately 1 hour at 150 degrees.
