An edible garden

A dream of being self-sufficient with lots of fruit and vegetables, as well as lots of flowers both to eat and to sell, is to a large extent the entire basis for Mette and Jens' garden. It contains large quantities of all kinds of delicacies, which are eaten all summer or pickled and boiled for the winter. The couple loves to sow and plant, look after and nurture and, not least, harvest and cook. Their children and grandchildren also benefit from it all. They are often in the garden, and several of them have their own beds and/or plants, which they look after and look after throughout the summer. It gives them a good understanding of how things are connected, and the joy of seeing plants grow that you have sown or planted yourself is great for children and adults of all ages.

The many greenhouses are almost entirely made of recycled materials. When Jens finds used windows, the "room" is adapted to them, and it is built up to suit the materials. The same applies to the frames for the raised beds, which are made from recycled wood. Most of the seeds were collected in the garden the year before, or the couple got them from others who have herb gardens. Many plants come back on their own year after year and spread themselves. They can be shared and used elsewhere in the garden, given away or exchanged with others.
