Create a southern atmosphere
When you look at the before and after pictures, of the "Mill house" next to each other, it is quite impressive to see the difference, you have to say... If you also like the cozy "southern" atmosphere on your terrace, you can create it with just a few elements. What we have done here is to make a pergola out of coarse fir rafters on which we have put a reed roof. You can also make it in laths from the hardware store if you are not into the very rustic.. Then we have planted lavender along one side of the house. To me, lavenders are synonymous with France, and they get more beautiful with each passing year. A few climbing roses also had to be added, I think, with trellises they can grow up.. It helps to give atmosphere. After this, we put up shutters on some of the windows and otherwise furnished with old garden furniture. A handsome old figure has also crept in. I love olive trees, so you can always find them on my terraces.
