How I made my romantic boho wreaths – step by step
I really love the frayed and imperfect look, so I decided to make two wreaths with the soft, handmade look. Here's how I did it:

1. Choose your wreath base

I started with two metal bases: One was round with several circles inside. The other was heart-shaped. I tore a bunch of fabric strips, about 2 cm wide and 16 cm long. I used mostly neutral-toned fabrics as the base. I added some floral fabrics in soft pink shades for variety and a romantic touch.

2. Tie the fabric onto the wreath

I started tying each strip around the metal frame with a single knot.
I placed them as close as possible to get the full, fluffy look.

This part requires a lot of time and patience – it took me several hours! So take it easy and enjoy the process.

3. Add floral details

When the entire wreath was filled with fabric strips, I placed some floral strips in between to highlight the delicate pink tones and create more depth. Next to it, I made a pile of fabric flowers. Here's how I did it:

  • I used different types of leftover fabric for each flower.

  • I roughly shaped them with my hands into a round flower shape.

  • To attach them, I sewed or glued them together.

  • I added little details to each flower to make them unique – a button, a brooch, or a small fabric flower in the center.

4. Attach the flowers to the wreath

I cut a long strip of fabric for each flower and sewed it to the back. That way I could easily tie them to the wreath. Since they are not permanent, you can always move them around! Each round wreath took me at least 8 hours to make. The heart-shaped one took a little less time – but I am absolutely in love with the result. They turned out beautiful, romantic, boho-style wreaths – full of texture, personality and handmade charm.
