Pillows made of recycled material

When you go through the stashes or around a flea market, it is not infrequent that you find a beautiful piece of fabric. I always buy it if I think either the pattern or the quality is delicious. You never know when it can be used for something exciting. It can be old tablecloths, bed linen, curtains or perhaps a beautiful scarf or an item by the metre. it doesn't do much for what it was originally used for.

These beautiful pillows are all made from different recycled materials. They have been sewn up and are now returning to honor and dignity. You can choose to make them more or less decorated, it's a matter of taste.

Both types are easy to sew... for the square cushions, you cut two pieces of the fabric in the desired shape. Place them with the back side facing each other and sew them together, on a sewing machine - leave a small hole of approximately 20 cm. If you want a frill edge, it must first be sewn together in the folds and placed between the layers and sewn together. Turn the pillow over and fill with wadding or a mounting pillow before sewing the assembly together. If necessary, decorate with ribbons or flowers around the edge.

The round pillow is cut from a large piece of fabric with twice the circumference as you want the pillow itself. Make a gathering thread at the edge and pull it together. Sew on the front, which can be either a piece of fabric that has been cut around or a nice bottle. Leave an opening so you can fill the pillow. Sew the last part by hand.
