Lavender scented hearts
Silvia has made these incredibly cute little pillow hearts, which she has decorated with lace, ribbons and buttons. Making lavender scented sachets with lavender from the garden is both a wonderful and fragrant summer activity. Follow this guide and make your own beautiful and aromatic scented sachets.
Materials you will need:
Old, natural and sturdy fabric in natural colors for the bags and floral fabric scraps for decoration.
Old buttons
Dried lavender
Needle and thread or a sewing machine
Saks
Needles
Course of action:
Prepare the fabric:
Choose your fabric scraps and tear two rectangles for each bag. You may want to go for a natural, fringed look.
Tear small squares and cut out little hearts from the fabric for decoration. Use scissors to fringe the edges for an extra charming look.
Decorate one rectangle with fabric patches, buttons and hearts.
Sew all parts together with the raw edges outwards for a rustic and old-fashioned look.
Use a combination of zigzag and straight stitches to accentuate the rustic feel.
If the heart fabric is too strong in color, you can use the reverse side for a more subdued look.
Fill the bags with dried lavender.
Close the bag with a straight seam.
Tear a strip of fabric and tie it around the bag to finish.
