This lovely fabric Easter egg is really cute to have hanging on a coat rack. You can also make many small ones and use them as place cards on the plates for Easter lunch. Put some hay and a few chocolate eggs in the pocket, and add a place card with a sweet greeting on it.
What you need:
Fabric, here I used a piece of fabric found in the recycling bin.
Paper for template.
Pillow filling.
Thick string for hanging.
Sewing machine, otherwise you can sew it by hand.
Scissors, needle, pencil, sewing thread.
Decorations for the pocket, hay, branches, postcards etc.
Start by drawing a template of an egg, this egg measures approx. 23 cm in height. Then draw another template and now cut out the pocket template. You will need approx. half an egg for it. Fold your fabric in half and cut out the egg. Then cut out a single pocket.
Now you put the three layers together. So that the pocket is right side out, and sew the egg together. You leave a piece open at the top so that you can turn the egg around.
Fill the egg with pillow filling and sew the opening together, either by machine or by hand. Now attach a hanging string to the top of the egg. Here I have used a large needle and a piece of coarse ribbon. Now you can decorate the egg by putting some hay, branches and an old postcard inside.
Have fun from Janne.
