Haircuts
Teasing is an old craft which is gradually being forgotten, namely teasing. It is absolutely fascinating what can come out of some needles and some rolls of thread when you know the old techniques.
German Andrea Sabo, loves to read magazines and books about French and Nordic country style. She noticed that there was always lots of lace and her fingers were itching to try to make it herself. There was so much inspiration to be found in the fine, old works, and it was a bit of an art to imitate them. She sent us a few years ago, a whole box of the most amazing, fine ribbons, bottles, curtains and small tablecloths. All made of the finest thin threads. It's incredible to think how many, many hours have gone into making them.
She writes that when she sits by herself in her specially designed room, she can really forget the world around her and just be in the moment. It's pure therapy. The many repetitions and the sound of the sticks working rhythmically. The joy of seeing the beautiful results and seeing the ideas become reality drives her. It's like being transported to a completely different world. The works arrived neatly wrapped in tissue paper and beautifully folded. With care, they were unpacked and used to make these inspiration images. If you want to start making lace yourself, you can look at more www.derkleinefaden.blogspot.de
