Garland of old towels

Soft balls and garland for the children's room made from recycled towels. In thrift stores you can find the finest used towels in all sorts of nice shades, which are perfect for sewing decorations for the children's room. Here I have sewn nice balls that you can make in many different sizes. They are nice as decorations, but can also be used to play with. The garland is nice as a decoration on a hook or to hang from the ceiling.

You will need:
Towels in several shades.
Pillow filling for the balls.
Rustic string for the garland.
Cardboard or paper to draw a template.
Sewing machine.
Scissors, sewing thread, needle etc. 

Here I have cut out a small triangle as a pattern. It measures 8 cm x 9 cm. You can easily make the three edges larger if you wish. You fold a towel and cut out the triangle so that the fold is at the top and aligns the triangle. Now you sew a drawstring on your sewing machine, so that you can then pull a thick string through. Remember to make sure that your safety pin or large needle can go through the drawstring. Here I have made 12 flags in different colors and mixed them on the thick string.
