Vintage-look eggs

Silvia from Los MiMis Armoire had a great time making these eggs. Although they are a classic among Easter decorations, the many possibilities for personal designs and expressions are endless, and it is just a really nice activity.

You will need:
Real chicken eggs
Vintage paint: I chose Old Turquoise and Vintage Cream, but you can also choose other shades of blue. For example, Light Blue or Dusty Green – all work beautifully for the vintage look we want to achieve with this little project.
Aging and texturing powders
Primer/sealer
Small sponge for applying paint
Small tool for sprinkling the powder (it can also be the tip of a knife)
Small brush for applying primer/sealer

Before you get started:
These eggs are very fragile, so work carefully. If some of them break, they still look fine – so don’t throw away all the broken pieces. You can still use them as decoration.

Here's how you do it:
Apply the turquoise paint with the sponge, alternating with the light paint. The paint should be applied generously.
Sprinkle a little of both powders onto the still wet paint.
Gently press the powder down with your finger so it adheres better.
Once the paint is dry (you can use a hair dryer), seal the eggs with primer/sealer.

Decoration tips:
Since the eggs are so small, they look extra pretty when decorated in groups – so feel free to make many at once.
You can also make individual decorations and place them in small tea or coffee cups, in a soup spoon or with other types of Easter eggs. If you prefer a more romantic look, you can paint them in different shades of blue and/or green for a more unique look and add a small rose from a napkin or transfer.
