Collages of fabric and paper

Have you ever tried making your own collages… If not, you should. It's so cosy, easy and a good idea you can also do with your children in an afternoon where you have to do something creative together.

You can use the motifs as they are as decorations. Or use them as postcards or frame them. Go hunting in the local recycling or at a flea market. Here there is an abundance of old books, postcards, fabric, wallpaper and much else you can use. Here it was actually a book with bird motifs that provided the inspiration for these collages. They have been put together with wallpaper, fabric, small Rich's cards (Small collector's cards that came with some coffee replacement in the old days) Numbers from an old banko plate etc.

You will need:
Plain white cardboard from the bookstore. Here we have used str. A4
Glue, scissors, brush.
Various old texts, motifs etc. that you can collect together.

Here's how you do it: 
Start by gluing either fabric, wallpaper or old text paper to your entire piece of cardboard. Now you can either cut the piece into smaller sheets or decorate the whole piece. Now you start to build up your collage and you try your hand at it. Start possibly by simply placing the motifs on loosely and wait to glue. That way you get the opportunity to undo and make a different expression.
