Embroidery

In the last several years, there has been and still is a really great interest in knitting and crocheting, - also among young people. Right now, however, there is a new trend that has been linked to and that is to embroider. We stumbled upon the trend and thought "how hard can it be" and jumped into it, without any background in art. It was just really fun and incredibly easy. There's probably a needlework teacher somewhere or two thinking, stop it, it's not "by the book" - but you know what, it doesn't matter. The fact is that it is really fun and cozy. My own patience with needlework is not the greatest and neither are my skills. I can neither crochet nor knit, but embroider - it's so easy.

I simply became so immersed in it that I almost forgot everything around me. I know the same thing happened to both Mette and Emma from Butik Moules, who were also assigned the task for the article here. We found yarn, thread, needles and frames in Mette's stash and in a few thrift stores, looked online and found inspiration. Some of the items are made with sewing thread, others with embroidery thread, with whole or partial threads. You can embroider on all kinds of fabric: clothes, shoes, cushions, bags, hats, bed linen, napkins and tablecloths. Or you can make small embroidered pictures to hang. Once you've found your fabric, just draw your motif, find the colors you need and then just get started.
