Kærby Mølle's garden

Our garden is probably what you can call a natural garden. There are no tidy beds or many flowers. There are large grassy areas between the trees, and the stream that winds from the lake and continues through the entire plot before it ends in the Kastbjerg Å. Just the way we like it. With grazing cows and horses around us. By the lake, we have put a small house in connection with the terrace, where you can take a nap, or spend the night on warm days. Here it is wonderful to wake up to the sound of birdsong and the trickling stream as the only sounds. It is possible to swim in the lake, but since it is spring water that supplies the lake and the stream, the temperature is around 8 - 10 degrees all year round. So it's a bit of a cold shiver. I usually settle for a little sopping. The young people are fresher and like to take a trip from the raft.

Lars has made paths between the toes and the pelvis. The garden itself is private, but in Kastbjerg Ådal there are plenty of hiking trails and shelters that you can freely use. Lars has set up benches in several places on the route around our property and looks after the paths so that you can walk dry. In the brook and stream there are lots of trout, which come up from Mariager Fjord to spawn every winter. Several of them stay the rest of the year. In the forest there are 40 species of birds and "richær", which is a special natural phenomenon found in meadows, among other places. The curved road is the original old main road. Here, the regular bus ran right past Møllen through the farm square right up until the 50s.

In the garden, there are many small cozy spots where we have made seating. You can always find a peaceful place in the shade and shelter somewhere in the garden. The mill house itself has been preserved even incl. the mill. A guest house has been arranged here for the great pleasure of family and friends.
