It's always something special when an edition comes from the printer. Even after all those years of book publishing and more than 14 years of magazine publishing.. (it still adds up over time..) Then there's always something special that moves me when I stand with it in my hand. It's a feeling of deep joy that I do what I do and also a pride in it. That so many people continue to contribute to us being able to deliver all that inspiration to you., When the magazines are delivered, it's been some time and several other deadlines since I last saw the content and wrote the texts for the edition. So I always forget a little.. what it looked like.. When Lars then comes with the pile of languages that just need to be looked through, I sit down with my coffee or sometimes a nice wine, - look through them all.. and just get so happy! This feeling was special when edition 4 came through the door. I just think it's SO beautiful! It contains everything that I want JDL to stand for. Every season has its charm, but there is now something special about summer, in our latitudes. It is still so early in the season that everything is green and crisp and you really enjoy being able to spend so many hours outside. We are not so lucky that we can do that, here in the Nordics, at least not with the same pleasure, all year round. We can do that right now, which is why the magazine is of course filled with plenty of inspiration to decorate your garden, on the terrace, in orangeries and in the summer house. These days I myself go and prepare for our summer market here at Kærby Mølle, where I try to put in some of all the elements and ideas.
There are also several southern homes. They invite you to slow living - to live life slowly - and enjoy it more - something I think many of us have taken to heart, after the years with Corona when we were more at home. It made many of us go down a gear a little and go back to some of all the chores that for some have been forgotten and not least hidden out of the way due to the busyness of life. Fortunately, you can easily take the ideas you find here and use them in your year-round home - and perhaps create a summer atmosphere all year round. All homes in this edition reflect the light and bright summer house style in their own way, regardless of whether it is a permanent home or not.
