Issue 6 is out August 13th
Late summer has always had a special place in my heart. There's something about the light, the scent of the garden and the long, warm evenings that makes me breathe a little deeper and be more present in what is. Maybe also because I know that it will soon be over for this time. The change of seasons can do something. It makes us appreciate the seasons more when they are here.
In the middle of August, everything is still so lush and generous around us. The flowers are at their peak – just look at Tine's dahlia garden, which I'm quite envious of, even though I try to emulate her. The kitchen garden is abounding, and nature feels rich and alive in a way that only this time of year can. It's as if summer gathers together and shows us the best it has. In this edition, we have let ourselves be seduced by precisely that atmosphere. We visit several beautiful late summer gardens, where the flowers are in full bloom, and where the love for what grows is felt in every detail. We meet creative and inspiring people who share their lives, their homes and their passions with us. You can also look forward to coming inside some very special homes – homes with personality, warmth and good stories.
These days we are going on the most wonderful late summer trips, including to Sweden and Ærø. I love the Scandinavian nature at this time of year – it is both calm and lush at the same time, and there is a special atmosphere of something being allowed to mature and be. I think that is exactly what late summer can do. Make us enjoy what is right now. To stay a little longer at the table, to take an extra walk in the garden and to let the moments take their place. I hope that you find inspiration, peace and joy in this edition – and that you take a little of the late summer atmosphere with you.
Hugs, Vivian
