It is the height of summer, and we are enjoying the holiday season in the most beautiful gardens with the finest cozy nooks. We visit a wonderful and charming ice cream cafe, and our theme is about how to turn orangeries, annexes and other extra buildings into cozy oases for shops, for everyday use and for parties.
High summer in Denmark is a season of warmth and light that invites us to leave the comforts of home and move our daily lives outside under the blue sky. It is the time when we can fully enjoy our outdoor facilities, including the garden and terrace, or venture out into the blue to visit parks, forests and beaches. In this edition of the magazine, we delve, among other things, into the art of utilizing the outdoor potential of our homes. From the smallest outdoor spaces to the largest and most lush gardens:
We have collected a number of ideas and lots of inspiration that can help you create your own summer paradise. Perhaps you need to rethink your own outdoor spaces and make use of outbuildings or garages in new, creative ways? Have you considered turning your greenhouse into a temporary summer kitchen or perhaps using your workshop as a space for art and creativity? Or maybe open a small summer shop? You can see some examples of this in this edition. High summer is also synonymous with fun and gatherings. It is the time for long dinners under the open sky, where the food tastes extra good, and the conversations stretch far into the balmy evening hours. If the weather is not for garden gatherings, pergolas or carports can be transformed into party rooms.
We visit homes that are decorated in the informal cottage style, which is not only pleasing to the eye, but which also invites relaxation and togetherness. Let yourself be inspired by their creative solutions and bring some of this summer magic into your own home. Summer in Denmark is unfortunately short but intense, and it is my hope that this edition of the magazine will inspire you to take advantage of every ray of sunshine. Regardless of whether you prefer relaxed days in the hammock in the company of a good book, or you would rather invite friends and family to a summer party, remember that the most important thing is to enjoy these moments to the fullest.
