Swedish retro style in apartment

A completely ordinary “boring” apartment of 60 sq m. with a standard kitchen and bathroom, white walls and laminate flooring, can be transformed with little money and a little work into the most beautiful personal home, in Swedish retro style with almost only recycling. Mette and Jens, from Cafe Moulés, are a clear example of this. Above the cafe, they have decorated the most beautiful apartment with panel walls made of recycled boards, wallpaper remnants and lovely colors on the walls. The standard kitchen and bathroom are the same, just spruced up for little money. In the kitchen, among other things, shelves have been put up above the panel walls and the hood is also covered in boards and painted white. The open shelves help to create a fantastic cozy atmosphere. A single wall has been put up to create an extra room and a small old window has been inserted into the kitchen. In addition to the kitchen/family room, the apartment has 3 rooms and a large bathroom. Outside there is a lovely large terrace. There are new beds everywhere, but otherwise the entire apartment is furnished with furniture and things found at markets and thrift stores.

The living room is pure 70s retro, with floral wallpaper that is original to its time, sofa in brown velvet, wicker furniture and brown ceramic jars. The other rooms are more Swedish country style, in delicious pastel colours, but with retro elements so that there is a nice coherence in the rooms.
