New Year

Then came the last day of the year... and it is time for reflection on the year that has passed and thoughts about the year to come. For Jeanne d'Arc Living, it has been a wonderful year, with lots of new exciting initiatives, which fortunately have been really well received. Thanks for that! Without your support, I couldn't keep doing what I do. I am grateful for that every single day. In these times, it is certainly not a matter of course to have the opportunity to do what you love most. In the course of the year, I have unfortunately seen far too many companies that had to close. Small and medium-sized companies, where people who are really passionate about what they do, cannot cope with the rising costs. The inflation that means they don't sell what they need to in order to survive. It is so infinitely sad.

We have also had to cut to the chase in many ways in our small business. It's tough, no doubt about it. To say otherwise would be wrong. It is by no means a goldmine to be a small publishing house with its own publications - without a large group and a lot of income from advertisements behind it. But we are here and we LOVE it! It also opens up new opportunities and creativity grows in times of crisis. For us, this has meant a lot of new acquaintances and meetings with people who, in one way or another, give us a lot of positivity, support and help us. - where we help each other through. For me, it's a new everyday life where I get out of the bush a lot more and I actually really like that.

It has become completely natural to open our home to visitors and hold various events here at Kærby Mølle. I love having guests, always have been. Both the planning, the preparation with decorating, making it cozy and cooking, etc. and the event itself, where a lot of happy people come to visit. New ideas and friendships arise across age, occupation and address. We all meet around common interests. It's simply so nice.

Tonight we will also have guests. However, it is quiet and private when good friends drop by. However, they still have to be fussed over. I can't help it at all. Delicious food must be prepared, the table must be beautifully decorated and the bubbles, in copious amounts, drunk from beautiful champagne glasses. We must remember to do the little extra for each other and appreciate each other. Again this year we have lost far too many, far too soon.

THANK YOU for the past year and a REALLY HAPPY NEW YEAR to you. Hope to see you.

Hugs from Vivian

PS: You just need the recipe for the wreath cakes from issue 8 this year. See below the pictures.

200 grams of marzipan
100 g icing sugar
1 egg white
chopped nuts, vanilla sugar, cocoa powder, dark chocolate and extra icing sugar to dip the pieces in.

Stir the powdered sugar into the egg white. Work the sugar and eggs well together with the marzipan. Let it possibly leave to cool slightly before forming into small balls which are dipped in various decorations. before being shaped into rustic bite-sized pieces.

Bake in the oven at 220°C for approx. 10 min., until they are golden. When they have cooled down, the base may dipped in dark tempered chocolate.

 Get well
