Life in the old factory
In one of the remote corners of Denmark, surrounded by the most beautiful nature, there is an old, disused factory, which is well hidden from the road behind a residential area.
We are visiting the private quarters of Susanne Klein, owner of the store "Den gode butik". She loves flea markets and finding fun things. Large and small, unique, whimsical objects, furniture and trinkets. Things that she can't help but also use in the decoration of her own home. Here you will not find anything that is newly produced. Everything is recycled, either directly and for the original use of things or in new contexts.
Due to the history of the house, it is a bit specially designed with a very large room in the middle of the house - the old factory hall. Here, Susanne has set up a fantastic living room with several seating groups and an impressive, large, old joiner's bench, which she actually uses when she herself renovates furniture and lamps for the shop. Susanne is a real handy woman who carries out all tasks herself, and they include both long drives in the van around Europe's markets, renovating the house and refurbishing furniture. Her specialty has gradually become the renovation of old lamps, for which she has a very special fondness.
From the kitchen towards the living room, Susanne has inserted a large window section, so that there is a connection between the rooms. There is a large garden room with large windows in extension of the living room, which gives an additional feeling of an incredible amount of space in the house. Fortunately, the house also has space for all the beautiful, old things that Susanne has collected over the years.
