The cable reel
An article we brought back in 2019 was this one where we gave inspiration for making things out of old cable drums. It is still popular, perhaps even more so than then. It is especially fun when you recycle different materials that actually had a completely different purpose, including pallets and trolleys.
the cable drum specializes in just that. There are No two cable reels are exactly the same, and you therefore get a completely unique piece of furniture. Just look at the table top on the front of the post here, where numbers are stamped into the table top. The durability of this furniture is very good, as the drums are intended to be able to withstand wind and weather outside for many years. Therefore, they are super suitable for standing outside.
The drums can easily be used "as they are", where you use the whole drum as a table. The company here makes lighter iron frames for the tables, and you can order furniture to measure. We got a few extra plates with us when we borrowed the tables, and Ole, our handyman at the magazine, made the hanging table for us, among other things. It's quite simple. A coarse rope, used for suspension, is fixed under the table top and suspended from a strong hook in the ceiling. Like a swing.
We have cut another plate in half and set it up as a small desk with a good, strong shelf brace. Smaller discs of drums can also be used as shelves. The possibilities are many, and it adds something both personal and rustic to the home or terrace.
