Cozy in the old fisherman's house

Lone and her husband Bjarne took over the old fisherman's house with associated smokehouse, located in Gershøj harbor by the Roskilde fjord, in 1999. It was very dilapidated and only 69 square meters in size at the time. The couple set about designing the dream house with the old fisherman's house as a starting point. Bjarne is a carpenter, so he was able to fulfill many of Lone's dreams, and after just six months it was all ready to move in. The small fisherman's house had extensions on both sides, but you don't feel the difference between the new and the old part of the house when you enter. Everything is made with great respect for the original style of the house.

Interior design and creativity have always been of great interest to Lone, and it is clear from the home that Lone has a flair for just that. There is a fantastic cozy atmosphere in the home, which is decorated very personally with all the things that she herself likes the most. Furniture and trinkets are a mix of new and old. Lone is very faithful to the original worn and white style with beautiful, old furniture with lots of patina, which is combined with, among other things, beautiful vases and jars in sandstone, religious figures and mantelpiece mirrors.

She combines all the white with lots of

wickerwork in natural colours, rustic plank tables and cozy textiles, all of which help to create this fantastic atmosphere in this house by the water. In this home, there is plenty of room for creativity to truly unfold. Imagine sitting each on the forging bench and enjoying the sight of the fire in the stove and the view of the water on such a cold winter day in January, and just busying yourself with creative projects. It must be pure therapy.
