A little paradise in the middle of the city

When HC and Finns first stepped into their new garden back in 2019, where they were going to establish their showroom, it was hard to imagine that the empty lot – then filled with scrap metal – could be transformed into the oasis we encounter today. But with love, creativity and a strong passion for beauty, they have created a terrace and a small garden of about 70 square meters, which exudes atmosphere, soul and personality. As soon as you step behind the fence, you are greeted by a special eye-catcher: the rustic pan tiles that form a raw frame, but are softened by a sea of pots, plants and green lushness. Underfoot, the beach sand creates a soft, almost southern atmosphere, while the dining area is covered with tiles – perfect for cozy moments with coffee and conversation. The details are what make the place so special. The handmade mirrors and shelves in rusty iron, made by a local blacksmith, evoke associations with Tage Andersen, and together with French pots and figurines, a beautiful balance is created between raw Nordic simplicity and southern charm. There are always plenty of garden pots and figurines in sandstone – chosen with the intention of withstanding the Danish weather all year round. As you move around, you quickly discover HC and Finn's love of plants. Hostas, bamboo, large tree ferns, clematis, climbing hydrangea and the wisteria that winds elegantly and spreads lushly create a living green space. And then there are the flowers – always fresh bouquets both inside and out, which complete the feeling of homely cosiness and aesthetic sense. Although the garden is small in size, it is big on atmosphere. Here customers can settle down, enjoy a cup of coffee and feel the calm in the middle of the city's pulse. And right in front of the showroom awaits the courtyard, where pots and planters abound with dahlias and other flowers that HC loves to use in her sumptuous bouquets.

For HC and Finn, My Vintage Home is their lifestyle and a passion that began in 2009. In fact, they were already featured in the very first issue of Jeanne d'Arc Living, where we encouraged them to find a domain and embark on the online store adventure. Three weeks later, My Vintage Home a reality – and they have never looked back since.
