Grow microgreens

It is not easy to wait for spring to really start. Many of us are so eager to start sowing and planting. However, there is still some time... until then you can have fun making your own "micro greens". They are really just herbs and vegetables that have sprouted and are eaten before they have become real plants. The bags of seeds have been on the shelves for a while. Buy a few bags and try using them in this way, and get delicious sprinkles for your food. It's super easy.

Several of the seeds can simply be sprinkled on a piece of cotton wool, while others preferably require a little soil. What they have in common is that within one to two weeks you will have plenty of healthy, small plants that you can eat. Pea sprouts are a little longer to come though. We chose seeds from beetroot, peas, spinach, radish, watercress, common basil and red basil. They were all well suited for the purpose. We put them all in pots with soil and put them under a glass bell in a bright and sunny place. In fact, we took a chance and put them in the gazebo, even though the night temperatures are still quite low, and it worked out fine. We watered every day, and after a few days the first seeds began to eat and sprout. You can also easily grow them in an ordinary windowsill, in a south-facing window. Before long, they can also be grown outdoors.

We could already harvest the first sprouts after just a week. Watercress and basil grew quite quickly. Use the green sprinkle on all kinds of smørrebrød, as well as in salads. Here we give you a few recipes along the way. Click below FOOD RECIPES and see them.
