December 8: Sweet cotton icicles

Janne from anno1808 has made these fantastically fine icicles. They are exactly like the nice old ones. You can easily make her the art by following her description here. Use them in the interior or for a nice gift. They are, of course, obvious to hang on the Christmas tree or on branches, but they are also really nice to hang on a string in front of a large mirror, or you can let them form part of the table setting. Nice and different.

Start by making an "eye" in the middle of a piece of ordinary steel wire. The rest is twisted together so that you get something that looks like a large sewing needle. The length of the "sewing needle" determines the size of the icicle. The icicles shown here are approximately 10 centimeters long. Double-sided tape is wrapped around the twisted piece of steel wire. Remove the paper and now wrap the cotton around. Start from the bottom and wrap up afterwards so that the icicle becomes pointed and then thickens towards the eye. Now you roll the icicle between your hands with a little tea or coffee and let it dry. The icicle is then brushed with a glue that dries up clear, and it is rolled in white glitter and hung to dry.
