24. December

Then it was the 24th of December - where, however, time just flies by, as always in the month of December. I hope you have enjoyed it, not been too stressed and spent it on exactly what you enjoy most. Sometimes we set the expectations on ourselves way too high and it ends up being a pressure instead of a pleasure, with everything you think "must" be done in December.

Everything I post here, in the magazines and on social media is inspiration and ideas for it all, but certainly not an invitation to try to squeeze everything in. To that extent, I am in favor of sorting through everything and making it out of what I myself think is fun and cozy. It's about the togetherness and the good atmosphere must go with it. I'd rather drop something on the list if I don't think I have the time or desire anyway. BELIEVE ME I often do! Fortunately, these things are in the category called "Nice to do" and not "Need to do" - it makes a big difference!

I have a good friend - who told me that she got completely tired just thinking about all that I do, and she can't understand that I can take it at all. The funny thing though is that it actually gives me renewed energy and an incredible amount of joy. When I decorate, cook and am creative, I simply get in a good mood - and I do it with others who have the same interests - it can be good friends, the family, neighbors - you who help in the editorial office or everyone those of you who come out here for workshops, well, it will only get better. I wouldn't for anything in the world be without it in my life. That's how we are different and my friend has gradually learned to enjoy it and immerse herself in what she "can handle" and leave the rest, without a bad conscience about it. We have the most wonderful days together.

Tonight I want to make something extra out of the table setting, I can't do without Christmas Eve. In the stash I have found these wonderful pictures of a beautiful romantic Christmas table - with white tablecloth, fine old porcelain and a wonderful bouquet of fresh flowers, baubles and fir tree. In recent days I have shown you other ideas. My table won't be as romantic as this, but I'm looking forward to setting it up with my Christmas place setting, which I got as a gift from my father. It means something special to me that I got it from him - and a little from Lars, my husband, who is nice to supplement when something is missing. (and our lovely children) it will be a nice table with the blue linen tablecloth, blue linen napkins, the Christmas centerpiece and lots of greenery and candles in the middle.

NOW I want to hold back and wish you a very good Christmas Eve and some wonderful Christmas days. I'm taking a few days off and want to fully renew my family. At Christmas, maybe some tips and ideas will find their way onto the blog, who knows, and before the New Year I will definitely collect good New Year's ideas for you.
