A delicious and easy little Christmas snack are these homemade candied Christmas apples with chocolate. They are also quite nice to have on the table during Christmas. Cook them right up until they need to be eaten, then they taste the best. The crisp, fresh tart apple and the sweet crunchy caramel combined with delicious dark chocolate. Ummm…

6 sticks
6 fresh red apples
200 g sugar
1 dl. water
1 tbsp. vinegar
25 g glucose syrup
A few drops of red food coloring
100 g dark chocolate

Wash the apples thoroughly and polish them with a clean tea towel. Insert a stick into each apple. Put sugar, water, vinegar and syrup in a pan and heat it up so it starts to bubble a little. Finally, it must not turn brown. If you have a sugar thermometer, it must be 150 degrees. Turn off the heat and add the food coloring. Dip the apples and let them dry. Heat the chocolate over a water bath and dip the apples in the melted chocolate. Let them solidify and eat them within a few days.
