Today is the solstice - the shortest day of the year here at our latitudes. In Copenhagen, the day will only be 7 hours 1 minute and 16 seconds long. Already tomorrow, fortunately, it goes the other way again.

On such a dark winter day, it's cozy with lots of candles. Outside, you can make a homemade torch from a tree stump. Saw a cross in it, pour some lamp oil into it and put some sawdust on top, which you light. Now the stump will burn, for many many hours.

In fact, you can use the stump as a kind of stove where you can cook campfire food. Try inviting people for pancakes on a fire, or roasting marshmallows and drinking hot chocolate at the same time as you warm yourself by the "fire", it's really cozy.
