December 11: Sweet nostalgic drums with skins

The drums are made from cardboard rolls. It can be from toilet paper or kitchen roll to the small drums. For larger drums, you can use shipping tubes and tubes from labels and tape. For these drums, you will also need old music paper, imitation leather or real leather, ribbon, lace, twine, double-sided tape, tissue glue, second glue and other decorations.

Here's how you do it:
Start by cutting the cardboard rolls into suitable pieces so that the drums are in the right proportions. Now place a piece of cardboard on the wrong side of the skin and draw two circles. Cut a few millimeters outside the line.

Cut a piece of sheet music slightly longer than the circumference of the drum and glue it to the roll with decoupage glue or double-sided tape. Skins are glued on the ends with second glue. Only a small blob in a few places, so the skin is attached. Then add a little more glue here and there until it's stuck all the way around.

Now attach double-sided tape along both edges. Remove the paper and attach the ribbon or lace you wish to use. The suspension of these drums consists of twine tied around the drum. Any decorations can also be attached here. If you want to use some of the drums for place cards on the Christmas table, you can write your name on them with a black alcohol marker.
