December 1: Decorate with string lights

If there's anything we associate with Christmas, it's lights, and we especially love using string lights at this time of year. They bring so much coziness with them in this dark time. The small LED light chains, where the lights sit on a narrow metal cord, are the ones that we think are most useful. Here on the pages, we give you ideas for how you can use them.

The brilliant thing is that they are available with battery and timer, which means you can use them anywhere and you can easily store the batteries. In a lantern, a pot or a wedding dome, you can easily camouflage with a little moss or leaves.

Here we have put the string of lights in a fil de fer basket together with some cones. The wreath shown here is artificial, but the idea of using the string lights on a wreath is brilliant. It creates a very special atmosphere in the living room.

Also use them to wind around shutters, ladders or mirrors. In a window, it would be really nice to twist a string of lights around a vine.
